Training Objectives and Schedule
Participants will be able to:
· Explain and use concepts that form a full understanding of the dynamics of a challenging child.
· Describe why "normal" parenting and classroom management techniques often fail with the most intense children & teens, despite the best of intentions.
· Employ the techniques of the Nurtured Heart Approach to shift a challenging child or teen to using his or her intensity in successful ways; even with those who have been diagnosed with ADHD, ODD or ED and regardless of the level of severity of the problems or of the age of the child or teen.
· Apply the Nurtured Heart Techniques in a way that creates experiences of success that are more extensive and more transformative than traditional approaches.
· Uphold a perfect level of accountability for the child while utilizing ways to avoid traps that accidentally reward negativity.

Training techniques include lecture, small group practice, student-centered learning via utilization of examples from your own experience and in-class demonstrations.
Educators, Counselors, Social Workers and Psychologists receive 6.5 CE credits for this training.
